perfection weekend.

hello world! 

i am incredibly inspired right now! i've had a wonderful weekend of art and love. 

i went to the design museum on friday, and the exhibition right at the top called 'Mariscal Drawing Life' was perfect.

these pictures don't really do it justice- it was so fun and happy and colourful and i wanted to set up camp and stay there forever!i went back in the evening, and they encouraged people to make art while enjoying the gallery- i made myself at home, while jon took a look around.it was also pretty cool because my course at Uni had been asked to make some bunting- it was fun seeing a small piece of my work up there. [:

oh! so happy! i bought some new books for my shelf as well (the colours are total accidental matches. werid, but i like!)and one of my new favourite things is vintage slips!time to sleep and then tomorrow is another studio day at camberwell! how're you?

wednesday off.

today i slept in and dreamt of craft fairs.

made chicken caesar salad.

drank tea.

made some lists.

listened to Nick Cave & the Bad Seeds, the Flaming Lips, and Jenny Lewis.

daydreamed about playing pooh boats and camping.

edited tons of photos.

 

and thought more about uni projects.

now i'm going to go explore some london boutiques and make some art!

londontown time.

started uni today at Camberwell. 

the schedule looks amazing, with gallery visits every week, and lectures only once-in-a-while, and studio time the rest of the time! 

guess who went to primary school where our lecture hall is now?

 

isn't he a fitty! now i can just daydream about michael caine all day!

i've been keeping things from you.

(heather made me this cute box as a 'goodbye' present. it's full of photographs and notes from all of my friends in bristol. they are so wonderful.)

all summer i have been hiding things from you, bloggers.

i've been keeping secrets and not blogging much.

i haven't been updating very regularly and that makes me sad.

but i've been making and creating and taking pictures, and it's nearly time to share.

summer is officially over for me.

it's been so interesting- emotional, happy, sad, a learning experience and full of excitement and growing.

i'm planning an online class based around Journalling about the 'tough times' the times where you have to make big changes- it will be about how i document the real bits, not just for those periods, but in everyday. how many of you will be interested (comment, e-mail)? it will be a similar set-up to my last class.

i'm also working on that paperline i've promised you, (that's a sneak peek!) i've got the papers, i'm just finishing up the kit and including some embroidery patterns!

moving out. moving in.

So- I'm officially 'moved in' to my teeny tiny student halls room. My mum and dad helped me get everything inside and they stayed for dinner;

haha. i love my plates so much! since then, I've been slowly unpacking boxes and adding my touches to this pretty drab place...

as you can tell, I'm really ready for fall. [:

here we go!!!

hello september. i'm happy you're here.

got my hair re-dyed today a nice orangey ginger for fall.

i'm an official fan of messy never-blow-dry-it-ever hair with big bows and braids.

summer has come to an end and here i go! this is what i look like at the beginning of starting my life. and it's going to be beautiful.

exciting things in store this year! stay tuned.

packing, packing, love, packing.

 

i have a few photos to share from camping. there are tons more, but i haven't had time to edit them all yet.

i'm making a book for it too, with some of the silly drawings and words i did while we were there, but it's not close to being done yet.

i've had such a wonderful august. 

relaxing, free, full of love and good food and laughter and cuddles and  sun and rain and hot chocolate and trees.

it's been a pretty perfect ending to my bristol, 18-year-old life.

part of the moving process means getting rid of the old and making room for the new.

the studio that i've lived and worked in for 4 years, is the hardest thing to say goodbye to. i know it will be a long time before i have this much space again.

it's pretty empty now, and almost all in boxes. these are some scans from things that have accrued on my wall since 2005! just for fun. :]

it's really nice to find this collection of art/notes that just describes my last four years living and learning. thanks to everyone who has ever made me anything or inspired me to make something.

i'm excited to start this new book in my life. a fresh cover with blank pages and new characters, but a wonderful back story to give me strength.

this is getting kind of cheesy now. i can't help it- i'm sentimental.

and i've got a super busy week planned. i don't really want to think about saying 'bye' so we'll just dance and smile and hug.
