Workspace Wednesday no.2

Hello Hello!
Welcome to Workspace Wednesday no. two!
This week has seen a lot of note making and marker experiments...It's also held a lot of scanning! haha. Here are a couple of scans of some film that I took over the easter holidays. I really like them grouped like this. [:  
Okay, well- I'm going to head off to this knitting club waayy across town, so I hope I don't get lost or stuck inbetween smelly people on the tube! haha. Have a great Wednesday! (p.s. the funny face is because of the e-mail problems i've been having- see above post)

just some things.

So, I'm going out to a gallery just now with a couple girls from illustration and I wanted something a little special in my hair. I got these cutey-pies when I bought Rhi's new zine. It's really easy to turn ANYTHING into a hair clip- just grab some bobby pins (or hair grips) and find a way to slip it in, or use a saftey pin and then put your grips through the holes- then clip them into your hair. I find using 2 works best, because they hold eachother up. [:
 I ordered this cute hairclip from CraftyFoxes, who is a brand new etsy store and fellow london-er. I'm sure she'd be delighted to get some support.

I've been thinking about more fun things I can do on this blog, and things are stirring. I've also got an Etsy Update coming around the 9th of May! okay. Love you!!!

Workspace Wednesday no.1

So- this is the first offical 'Workspace Wednesday'. YAY! This is going to be a weekly feature, and I'm waaayyy excited to show you little peaks of my life.I got some new pens!!! I've been fooling around with them, seeing what they can do- what works, what doesn't. oh, and I finished my brown journal. What do you think?

This is the college I go to- Camberwell. All of these were taken by Anna, one of my best friends who does painting in the studio next to me. She had to finish up a roll one day, before we went and used the darkroom so she took these- and I think they are so beautiful! Thank you Anna!!!Unfortunately I don't know whose work that is- it was just up on the walls in her studio. 
I'm back in London and I start my last term of Foundation on Monday and so I need to switch gears (from shop keeper to student) for the next month or so. However, I've still got some exciting things to update my etsy with, it will just take me longer. haha.

I'm thinking of starting a weekly blog post like 'Monday Messes' or 'Wednesday Workspaces' where I share something that I've been doing that week- in my journals or a behind the scenes things... Just thoughts.

yay! just listed these cute little guys;They are called 'I wrote you a letter' and get them while they are hot, cause I only made a couple sets to start off. YAY! etsy shop.

- - - SIDE NOTE: new product going up on etsy tonight!- - - 
 I went to an art market today!!!! It's in bristol and they are having one, once a month... I wonder if it's too late to get a stall...I got a little bow for my hair, a pretty tree badge, some silly handmade postcards, another Nigel Peake book (i know, I'm badddd. haha) and some beautiful music.It's funny, actually because Ray Rumours and Frànçois are a wonderful team that I just discovered online- and so, when I saw the pretty pretty vinyl and cd's, I just had to own some. Their animations were actually an inspiration for the last project I did for college. Here is a link to one and two of their animations. So beautiful.

So, these are some screen shots in-the-process and things from this Narrative project, which I was very rushed with. If I had more time, I think it could've been something really special. The animation is really dark- but I've put it up on vimeo if you want a look.A little bit about it; We were given a piece of text to respond to or 'illustrate'. I chose one which had a kind of circular, doubling back on itself story about a guy who pretty much murders himself. I wanted it to end up as a changing side-by-side animation which looped into itself... I didn't get that far, haha. anyway- I think these would look nice in a zine...haha. (10 points to anyone who can guess who I based this guy on.)

do you remember a while ago when I said 'I feel change in the air'.
things have been changing for over a month in my personal life.
I just wanted to let you know that you'll see a shift in my work, (as isn't everything just taken from experiences?) but don't worry about me- I've realized I'm a lot stronger than I thought I was, and I'm happy with that.
So, I'm mending a broken heart with a lot of work and art and times with girls and time to think and do those things I never got a chance to before. I know it sounds crazy, but this season in my life looks positive, despite all odds.


I've gotten a couple of e-mails lately in response to my FMP blog about the illness I live with. This makes my heart swell so much! To know that my art is making a difference to people, really makes it all worth it. If you've got a story you want to share, please e-mail me- or even if you don't- Thank You for checking in with this blog.


I'm really so excited about some things I have planned for my Etsy Shop! I wish I could spill the beans RIGHT NOW, but we'll both have to wait! yikes!
