[: so, I love these Vintage 'Keep Calm and Carry On' posters that have gotten a little out-of-control lately. I bought a book about the history of it and some other famous quotes: I love it quite a bit. I also love all the spoof posters people have made. I found this one today, and thought you might all have a giggle. [:

feeling sentimental...

Sometimes I get this huge overwhelming feeling that things are out of my control. Time keeps going and it's impossible to slow it down or control what happens. You sign up for things, big commitments, and then suddenly you find yourself at the other side- and it's gone. boom. I have been really preoccupied with my work that it hit me really hard today when I dropped off my project. That's it- some of the people that I've shared a space with, I will never see again. I don't know. I find it hard to really justify the magnitude of this feeling, afterall, I've only known these people for 9 months. I guess, I am always astounded at how solid things can suddenly disappear.I know I posted a little bit about this last week sometime. Big feelings fill my heart and brain. (these pictures were taken in the painting studio a few months ago).

I'm exhausted, and stayed up all of last night to see that everything was in tip-top shape. Now it's time to sleep and go have some fun tomorrow. Then I will catch you all up fully on what's going on. :D

time for a break.

so, i've been working 'all day and all of the night' and it is time for a rest.thank you for all the encouragement on flickr/twitter/facebook/text and here. i really didn't think i was going to be able to finish layout & print and bind a 100 page book today- but i did it!!!!
i've still got some paper work and things to do, but whew!
i can't share too much, cause i might submit it for publication, but :D i love you kxo 

Workspace Wednesday no.6

it's been really hot this week. and i've been so stressed about this deadline. i've bitten off way more than i could ever chew in this amount of time and i don't do failure very well. i'm finding it hard to keep above water, but i'm hoping i get it together in time.sorry, this is short, i'm kind of freaking out. kxo

pretty much my dream job,

to draw words with paint and pens and ink and brushes while listening (and singing along) to 60's soul and motown playlists, and feel like maybe, i might be helping someone.  seriously though, if anyone wants to pay me to write things, e-mail me. haha.
i love college because i get to make up my own briefs most of the time, and i love what i do. so much. [: do you have a favourite part of your job?

i always thought thanksgiving was a pointless holiday, because there is so much to be thankful for everyday. like valentines day- we should appreciate each other all the time.
today, I dare you to show someone how much you care. whether it's by getting them their favourite drink or linking them to a youtube clip that makes them smile, or baking them some muffins or just a little text or hug.

lomography love.

I spent the majority of today looking for a new place to process my films. After a massive trek around the center of London and many disappointments, I still didn't find what I was looking for, but I did, however find the lomography store. (Which I've been meaning to go in all year!) I've been shooting a lot with my Lomo Lc-a this year and I'm so glad, every time you get different results. Here are some photos from xmas time, that are way over exposed but I love them anyway.Kind of random, I know- but I've been meaning to share them for a while now. [: This blogging everyday thing is good, no?

collage postcards.

A month or so back, I had a lot of really strong feelings that weren't going anywhere. They were hanging in my mind and I couldn't find the words to write about them in my journals, so I gave myself a big pile of magazines, some paint and blank postcards....And this is what happened:It was one of the most free-ing experiences I've experienced. I definitely recommend working on a small scale & making tons because it's satisfying and if you mess up or don't like it, there's no stress- just start a new one. Layers. Building up. Paper cuts. Negative space. Shapes. Lines.What do you think? Do they mean anything to you? I hardly ever work this abstract, so I'd love your opinion. 

In other news, I've got less than a week before my project is due, so things are a little crazy. Luckily, my Mum is around the next day or so to help out [: Say hi!haha. see you tomorrow! kxo
