having more bad days than good ones.

Yeah, lately it kind of feels like it's just been a string of bad days. If it's not one thing, it's another. I've got lots of great things lined up for blogging but not enough energy to post them! Hoping I'll get some time tomorrow/wednesday to get sorted out. Thanks for bearing with me.

my life. :: knitting!

When I don't feel so great, or need to catchup on some rest-this is generally what I do. Put on some good music or an audiobook and cuddle with Negs and some knitting.She loves to be in on the action. As soon as wool is out- she's there. It's infuriating but so cute- I just go with it. [:I've been making up my own patterns, drawing them out on graph paper and figuring it out. Mainly just different ways to do colour- but I've also been learning about socks and mittens and sweaters and things. It's still early days, but one of my goals is to get together some knitted things for Renegade London this year.This is a sock that I started using impossiblly small needles and machine knitting yarn. Crazy right? Well the women that knitted stockings in 1870 used even smaller! I've finished the heel now, but here's some shots from right after I finished the long ribbing.What knitted things would you like to see in the shop?  Socks? Stocking? Mittens? Knitted illustrations (like in frames)? Clothing? Hand-dyed Wool? I've got several plans in motion but I'm always interested in what you think!

Got more new wool in the post today. It was a mixed lot, so some of these I'd never choose, but are fun to have and I'm experimenting with colour knitting- so it's helpful to have a lot of choice. Here's a fun quote from Kaffe Fasset: "When in doubt- add in twenty more colours!!"

Pretend Victory Rolls.

A few of my friends have been playing around with 50's hairstyles, and just-for-fun I tried out a little pretend victory roll and a round bun (no idea if that's actually what you call them, haha)- to give a simple up-do something a bit more special.Think I might try some more. [:
p.s. the girls at college who have been playing with 50's hairstyles look so effortlessly gorgeous all the time! although the stories of hot rollers and blow drying your hair in curlers makes it sound a lot less effortless! still, why don't girls our age spend time on our hair anymore? (i mean, we do- but for different looks). loves.

New section on my Camberwell Blog!

I've started a new section on my Camberwell Blog- where I'll be posting informal thoughts and- I guess you could call them reviews, but it is mainly just a document of Films or TV series that have made an impact on me. I'll just be updating when I watch something new or am revisited by an old favourite.
 You can find them HERE. There's only a couple up there at the moment, but if you like to sit and watch something good- you might want to add it to your readers. [: I'm also open to suggestions!!! I prefer things shot on film, with considerate styling and stunning cinematography and compelling story. But I'm not a filmsnob, I'll watch most things! haha. 

I'm hoping that writing informal reviews will become more of a thing on here- like books and places maybe? Anyway, I might not announce every new Film post on here, so if you do want to keep up, bookmark it. [:

silly photobooth.

Look at my cool new coloured pencils (or pencil crayons... what do you call them?)! I bought them from ebay because there aren't so many cool crayola products in England where I shop. Dear Double ended pencils, be my new best friend! Looooove, kim!So far this month, I've also had some group work at Camberwell, where we had to make a video and ultimately ended up with everyone at mine, working away. We made a kind of ridiculous video because we got the word 'Defecation' and had to incorporate that and our costumes into it. We had three days, it was pretty rushed- but here it is, in all of it's weridness:

Lucky for us, everyone else made strange videos, and we were one of the few that used drawing (a lot of people used filming instead of stop frame). Below is what I wore to the little film screening we did in class. Haha.I'm still working with that same group (lovely friends!) on an extended brief- like part III- where we have to produce a manifesto. We made a blog too, especially for documenting it all (surprisingly not my idea! haha)- I'll share that later when there is more on it! [:

 

Granddad Chair.

Newest addition to my little flat is this Granddad chair. I call it that cause it looks like the male version of my sweet 'old lady' rocking chair- which I'll show you next. It is so comfy. Nothing like a good chair. (And I'm digging the odd seat cushion!). Total price: £0. [: From my parents new house!

It was that pink plaid all over and it looked a little dated- I was just talking to Mum about how I could make a new cover for it, when we examined it and realized that the pink WAS a cover! After a bit of unbuttoning, it showed it's true colour in this great textured dark caramel brown fabric. I love surprises like that!My favourite thing to do in this chair is get cuddles from Negs (she moves too fast for my wide angle lens!) and eat some tasty Kettle Corn (which I've been making from Mandi's amazing recipe.) Maybe watch some IT Crowd and get on with my knitting. [: Do you have a favourite spot in your house? I can't decide which corner of my flat I like the best- they are all so cozy!

Just letting you know that I'm cutting out a few more sets of the 'I Wrote You A Letter' sticker sets, as they are so popular! Thanks to everyone who has bought one or featured me in a treasury or two. [: Makes me feel all warm and fuzzy inside, haha. Been thinking maybe I should make some different sticker sets... does anyone have preferences of what they'd like to see? I was thinking little records, or lions or tea cups? Project Restyle no. 01!

I've joined in the fun with Project Restyle. [: This was a bargain dress(or tent!) I found at a local market and with a little help from Mum, we turned it into a well fitting dress with shorter sleeves.Those were the befores and here's the afters: It's super comfy and warm, which is perfect for these blustery days we've been having. [:

Tonight, I'm sitting watching movies and catching up on some knitting projects. I've got some great stuff planned! :] kxo
