(Just South of the River.)
So- having finally made the swap from old iPhone 3 to new iPhone 4- I've acquired a lot more space and also the greatly enhanced picture and video capabilities. With a little help from my friends (on twitter, thanks!) I went ahead and downloaded Instagram. It's fab. I'm not going to ramble about how great it is, but if you've got it- feel free to add me. I'm kimsmithhappy on there. [:(Traffic near London Bridge.)
One of the things I love about London- is being able to ride around on buses and soak it all in. A lot of tourists and even residents, take the tube everywhere. Which is great- the tube is very useful. But you end up with a distorted view of the city, and how it all fits together. Whereas, if you take the bus- or walk- or even follow a real map, you may be surprised at how close things are, and the gems that are on bus routes. Not special tourist buses- but normal ordinary, smelly, packed, jolty, late, buses. Some are bendy, some are double decker. Each route has it's own character. Having lived in London for nearly two years now- despite how tiresome and irksome public transport can be... I would choose a bus over the tube, anyday. (Unless, of course- you plan on going from the top of the Northern Line all the way to the bottom. The Northern Line is pretty dependable. [: )(Near Borough Station- 'The Hop Exchange' I think...)
Anyway, rambling a bit here- but I was inspired to 'tweet' to you, my gorgeous views on one of my hour-ish rides from my house to Prick Your Finger. All of these were taken along the route of bus 35 (I always get the 42 and 35 mixed up because they both go from Liverpool Street Station to Camberwell Green- which is where I catch it, but they take separate routes)- except the ones near Tower Bridge, which were taken from a taxi.(Bishopsgate)
(Tower Bridge- both)
(Right next to Liverpool Street Station- the Spitalfields side)
I'm always inspired by how London is such a puzzle piece of old and new, and so many different times 'quilted' together by pattern and design and style and taste and streets and shops and churches and banks and stations and pubs and... it's wonderful.
I'll probably be making this a regular thing- sharing the things that catch my eye about the city- so do follow along if you like. [: I'll be sure to tweet them as well.
Thanks for sharing the views of the city!

Haha, it's interesting to see this when thinking of my rant on London I wrote last week. Boris should stop messing around for all those people who adore the city...like you.!
Great pics by the way. :-) (I like the one above Tower Bridge one, reminds me when walking around Shoreditch High stn.)
Also+ Double Deckers RULE.!(though I hate bendies.) No competition with esp that crammed tube...
