Online Shop Update! Pin Badges :: Shop & Potter

YAY! Check out the awesome badges I just added to the online store! There's a bunch, and not ALL Harry Potter related... hehe. :] But for you Potter lovers, I put up a bunch of designs you could only get as embroidery patterns online before now. Some of you might recognise these from fairs I've done. I've tried to group them into similar themes... i.e. Death Eaters, Hogwarts etc. So, if you're into being all dark and evil, you can find most of the ones you'll like in one place! Keep in mind, there may be more than one listing for a specific theme. (i.e. not all Order members are grouped together).

News! Hello there! :: Life.

Well, it's been a while, and a LOT has happened! Two big things though:

1) We got a new cat! Her name is Pru (#auntiepru) and she was my Late Great Aunt's cat. We happily adopted her and she's very tiny and very fluffy and full of attitude. Negs and her are still a little unsure of eachother.

2) I MOVED! I'm back in Bristol and my new house happens to come with a shopfront... There will be lots of news on this soon, for now- I'm using it as my studio, and getting it fixed up. Once I get all the business end of things sorted out, then I can open it as a REAL SHOP. I know- it's completely crazy. I'm taking it very slow and trying not to over do it health-wise.

Dusty Negs. :: Cats and Life.

So, one sunshiney afternoon while my mum was visiting, this sneeky little cat of mine (Negs) dashed out from in between Mum's legs and made a run for the garden. In which she rolled around and got seriously dusty. (See is usually the whitest white and blackest black)Ever since her accident where she lost her tail, I've kept Negs inside becuase she gets super stressed out and nervous and panicy about cars and the big world. So I keep her safe and she's usually contented. But- I guess she just couldn't resist the sunshine. Luckily we've got a closed-in cortyard so she was quite safe. And she loved exploring.It's so funny seeing her so dusty because she is usually the cleanest cat ever. Like, I've never known a cat who keeps her fur so clean and tidy. Just thought I'd share the cuteness. Kimxo

Negs is my special little helper around Art Equals Happy. She is very good at keeping seats warm and chasing yarn. And coming for cuddles after a long day. I don't know when her birthday is but she's been with us for about 7 years. There's been a lot of love for her around here the last few weeks, with some of my friends spoiling her rotten (can you say catnip treats?!), so we can pretend it's her birthday now, right? :]

Meet Alonzo. :: Cats and photographs.

When I was on holiday in Devon, I met this sweetie pie. His real name is Alonzo- but I started calling him 'Fonz' and then, we were drawing pictures of him and I accidently wrote 'Alfonzo'. So- he is forever Fonzy in my heart.The sweetest little cuddle bug you ever did meet!

Thanks to everyone who left comments on this post. It means a lot to me.

The work load has reduced a lot since then & I am starting to enjoy the summertime already. Or maybe it just feels like summer because the weather has been so hot here. I've been doing a lot of reading and cuddling with my kitty cat while I let my body recover. I've also been blessed to have some really dear friends stay with me this last week which has been a nice distration from sore legs. Oh. and Meredith has been in town. :]
Also been making a dent in my 'watch this' list. Jurrassic Park and Game of Thrones. Very good. haha. Plus there are some really good history programs on BBC iplayer right now. Including one about Harris tweed.

Good Moments. :: My Life. & Ghostly Illness.

Things are tough around here. Lots of days in bed. Lots of sleepless nights. A lot of leg pain. A lot of crazy nauseated cravings. And a bit too much feeling faint.
They are really piling the work on thick right now. Doing a BA (Hons) Degree is no laughing matter. A few of the ladies in my class that I really admire for their strength, kindness, goodness of heart and work ethic are crumbling under the pressure (like thinking about getting a form for a deferral!)- so it's no wonder that I completely lost it yesterday. Sickness is not a fun thing to live with. It just makes everything 10x harder. Like- you think it's hard, then something makes it harder.I like to keep things positive on here, but without missing out the imporant downs that make the ups feel so good. So- here's to making the most of those crappy days- getting the tears out and not giving up!

Some things which have been helping me a little bit: PRIORITISE. Sticky notes on the wall. Doing your best. Planning rests. Friends who make Veggie Curry for me. A fresh sketchbook. Fresh Pineapple. Knowing that you aren't going to get everything done perfectly. Spending time on my own to re-coup. And savouring those good moments.

Like (no matter how sore you are, or who you weren't patient enough with, or how greasy your hair is) when there is always a pair of knitting needles and a kitty cat waiting for you to come home to. <3Remember the good moments, Kimxo
