I said to myself that I was taking the season off from markets. I didn't do Renegade or any of my usual things, but I've been missing it a little too much. I managed to swing a last minute spot at the Pom Pom Quarterly Christmas Market. It looks like it's going to be a grand party & I will be hanging out with the indie dyers and yarn makers. I can't wait!

Hello! Sorry it's been so quiet, but I'm sure you can understand why! Had a brilliant show at Camberwell and now our year group (That's all my fellow BA Illustration students from Camberwell) have put on a show on Brick Lane!
We are going to be at THE RAG FACTORY (favourite place!) from tomorrow night 6pm for the private view and then everyday until Sunday 10-7pm. It would mean the world to me if you came and checked it out.We've all worked super super hard to bring you the best show we can, in a fun and exciting part of London (Brick Lane is crazy cool on the weekends with Vintage clothes markets, Vinyl shops, tasty food and the best curries in London. Oh and don't forget Spitalfields and Box Park just a few streets away).

This Saturday on the Regents Canal by the St Pancras Locks near Kings Cross we are doing our second Peoplespace market! It'll be on most of the day and we will be hanging out enjoying the weather (hopefully) and the nature and eachother's company. It's an event hosted by a few of my best friends and I. (Like those signs? I painted them!)
Last month we held our grand opening in Camden and it was a great success! The boat is equiped for selling off the side and for performances (musical and otherwise). Weather permitting, I will be spinning on top of the canal boat, and many our friends are talented with guitars and singing. It's going to be a perfectly chilled day.
*NOTE! We are still looking for stallholders/nice people who make things! Space is free and so are hugs and good conversation. We're looking to meet like minded folks who like to make things that are nice to the enviornment and to ourselves. Please email me or message the team on facebook.
To find us- Hop on the Regents Canal toe path near Kings Cross and take a lovely little jaunt along the canalside. Depending on available space we'll be somewhere near the locks. Look for a bunch of hippies and our big orange sign. I've got to say, the Canal is one of London's hidden gems. It's so peaceful and a much 'slower' way of living- and a perfect escape from busy busy London hubbub.

The lovely people at We Make London asked me to participate in one evening with the Camden Night Markets during December. The vibe was nice and Christmassy and got me in the mood for shopping big time. A lot of my friends came out that night too, which made bearing the cold much funner! :] Here are a few snaps I took of my stall that night. The little Art Equals Happy elves have been busy making fun things for Christmas! The favourite snowflakes are back in tons of colours. We've got brand new handspun! Both self-stripe and some naturally dyed!We've also got special little lavendar sachets that make perfect xmas ornaments, and then can be tucked into your undies drawer to help keep everything smelling lovely all year round. :] If you came along to the Camden Night Market last week, you'll have seen these, and THIS WEEKEND we are doing the lovely Fair Christmas Fayre at the Horniman Museum. This weekend Art Equals Happy was at The Old Spitalfields Market! We were next to a whole bunch of nice people in the 'We Make London' section. Check them out here. Although it was very cold all day (see below), it was fun to sit and chat with I Am Acyrllic and LadyBirdLikes and knit and be wrapped up in gloves and scarves.Not a bad way to spend a saturday. Especially cause my Mum was there fussing over me (with blankets and starbucks! yum!!)- don't you just love Mums. They are the best.I tell ya what- it's great to have a full shop to set-up, complete with displays. This is pretty similar to my Renegade stall, only simplified a bit.(there's Mary of We Make London snapping a photo of me snapping a photo.)The Tote bags sold really well- we are all out of 'Knitting = Happy' so it looks like I need to paint some more! They are hand painted and sewn together using vintage sheets/curtain fabric. And a steal at £6 each!Lovin' my moo cards (I had to order more after Renegade because I liked 'em so much).And, of course- no Art Equals Happy stall would be complete without at least one Harry Potter reference. :] (I spy some potter badges!)Love, kimxo
