I've just got to share this with you because I've been filming all day and I'm really excited about it! As part of Channel, one of the productions is an Under The Sea Music Video. My friends made the set and organised everything- I was just being the camera woman today (which I LOVE doing). It's so so so so nice to be behind the camera for a change. haha. And we were filming Dave- a good friend with a great beard, so that was a plus. The set is super amazing, all handmade props out of cheapo stuff that really makes it look and feel like a coral reef. We used bubbles and crazy lighting effects too.
Ok- It's time for a rest and then our year is doing another fundraising event, this time it's called QUIZZARD. Basically, a pub quiz, but wizard themed. (No- I didn't come up with it. But it's the kind of thing I would, huh?! haha. Wizards.)
Big loves, Kimxo

I've got a dear friend, Emma, who is on the photography course at Camberwell- and who comes to 'craft club' every wednesday. The last few days I've been helping her sort out logistics for a final piece she's putting together for an exhibition. It's been really wonderful being with her from start to finish (we spend a lot of time talking about work over tea and knitting!) and what she's come up with is a really cracking set of work! She's managed to combine photography and natural dyeing so well. Her work is, in a nutshell, about protected landscapes in London. She visited each site, drew, photographed, collected, explored and took rubbings- to try and capture the essence of the place. Alongside a set of prints, she will be exhibiting a rug (hand woven!) where the wool has been dyed by plants from each site.Today, she started in on making the rug- so much fun! I probably did not do her project justice with my words, but I just wanted to share with you how much natural dyeing and crafts has influenced the lives of my friends too! <3 Emma- you're awesome!

Jazz drew this amazingly awesome poster for our Fundraising Night! We are hosting some B I N G O fun this thursday night! There will be mustaches and cakes and 70's clothes and fun times to be had! All profits go towards 2nd Year Illustration (my year!) putting on a final show at the end of 3rd year. It's tradition for each year to raise money for the show (venues, drink for opening night, etc get expensive!). I'm super happy we are doing something different than just a 'club night'. Woo! Bring on BINGO STARR night!! :]
p.s. I helped Jazz put it together on photoshop and seperate the colours- but she did the drawing and the printing! Psychedlic!!! I know somebody is going to ask so- it's printed on a RISO printer. Which is basically a fancy photocopier- but kind of works like screen printing. This was 2 colours!

We had a small showing of our work recently. It was a group exhibition so all of our pieces were 'anonyomus' and put next to each other. I had a few pieces spaced around the room. It was fun to see everyones work from the last unit all in one room. Here are some shots of the exibition:(I spy some of my knitting!)Jazz and I worked really hard to hang everything so we were super happy to see everyone enjoying the work!I think a lot people's favourite part was being able to look through some of the sketchbooks. Looking forward to showing again, hopefully we will be on the team for out 3rd year show. Kimxo

Hello! It's been assessment time around the Camberwell Illustration department. 1st years had thiers, we just finished ours and the 3rd years were looking pretty stressed today labeling all thier work. It's customary for the 2nd years to put on a little show around this time, celebrating the work we've all be doing over the last Unit.
There is a huge range of work up and EVERYONE has put in tons of hard work, and the quality/talent is amazing. Gosh, guys- I'm just so proud!
There are a few of my knitted pieces up on the wall and a brand new book activity book that I'm really excited about. I'll take some pictures tomorrow while the exhibition is up- but you can take a little look at some of the digital work from the last project HERE.

I've been on a little mini holiday the last few days to Bristol and Devon to see friends. While I was in Bristol I got to see all my old friends. They are a seriously inspiring bunch of people.

In particular, Jack Drewry's passion for everything really inspires me. He is one of those people that just has music in them. You can't help but get excited about things when he's around. It's this amazing attitude about music and drama (and everything creative) that makes me adore him so much- not to mention his good humor and all around 'good-guy' mentality. I'll stop gushing now- but I think you really ought to check out these jams that he's been recording recently. They are with a variety of people and as far as I know, all spontaneous. (Sam.)

This year, at college I was lucky enough to be involved in Two christmas markets! One was in the afternoon, in the 3rd year Illustration studio and was organised by them. It was nice with the smell of mulled wine and chai, and paper chains all over the studio. The lovely lady who organised it was super sweet and they made me feel at home (even though I was a second year. haha).
Then, at 4:30- it was off to Blackheath to participate in our year's market. It was our first fundraiser for our final show and went pretty well! A lot of the class had tables- some selling cakes or christmas cards or prints or cute badges, and some with vintage or homemade chutney! Yum! There was also cute workshops for kids! Blackheath is a sweet little town and we loved being there. My camera battery died earlier so most of these photos are from people on facebook (thank you!).Jazz and I had stalls next to eachother. Obviously. [:
I wore my festive elf hat, and had yummy Pecan Tarts.
Saara and Alice made delishious chutney. And Ali was rushing around organising everything. Amazing!
Jazz's table looked great! She's been doing a lot of lino-cut prints in her bedroom, and painting ceramics! Those christmas pudding cards are my favourite. [:
It was fun to hang out with my Uni buddies in a festive atmosphere. I had to get a photo of me and Ame, because we are good friends, but look totally different. haha! Love it! (Mods and Rockers? haha)And she's selling her christmas cards on Etsy! Some of them are Letterpressed (see below) and others are handmade. She's pretty clever.
Yay! Friends and Crafts and Merriment all in one place. It was a perfect (admittetly busy) day. kxo
